Difference Area Chart

It’s a type of area chart that shows the difference between two sets of values of the same variable over a common range of time, such as a smaller unit of time. For example, it helps to compare the earnings results of two different years, such as 2020 and 2021, over their months or quarters. In this case, the earnings correspond to the variable, having the two years as sets of values to compare through the months. In contrast to the area or line chart, in which the variable is spread over time, the difference area chart superimposes two sets of the variable, whose behavior causes areas given the difference in values.
