Spine Horizontal Bars

The spine chart compares areas over a range of indicators. The spine (the vertical axis) functions as a yardstick, enabling comparison. This spine is usually a summary statistic. Each vertebra (the bars that cross the spine) most often displays the range of data. The horizontal display aids visualization of larger datasets.
