This Monday, March 17, we will gather at Casa Datasketch to reflect on Data Feminism, the influential book by Catherine D'Ignazio and Lauren F. Klein. Through an open and participatory discussion, we will analyze how this work challenges traditional notions of objectivity and neutrality in data science, encouraging us to take a more critical perspective on how data is collected, analyzed, and used.
During our discussion, we will explore how data is not neutral—on the contrary, it can reinforce structural inequalities related to gender, race, class, and other forms of oppression.
Join us as we reflect on how a feminist approach to data science not only sheds light on these issues but also offers strategies to build fairer, more inclusive, and representative analyses.
