100 Datasketch Projects: The Impact of Data and Technology

At Datasketch, we’ve spent years transforming data into powerful tools for social change. Today, we present a platform where you can explore 100 projects we’ve collaborated on with organizations around the world, developing innovative solutions that promote transparency, access to information, and evidence-based decision-making.

Each of these projects represents a joint effort with entities across various sectors—from governments to international organizations, media outlets, and civil society. Our goal is clear: to make data accessible, understandable, and actionable to drive real impact.

On this platform, our 100 projects are categorized as follows:

International Organizations

Here you’ll find our initiatives and collaborations with global entities that use data in areas such as human rights, gender, anti-corruption, open government, and migration.

From platforms that monitor public policies to open data analysis tools, these projects have driven social change in various regions of the world, such as a comparative analysis of data protection laws in LATAM or a platform for visualizing healthcare corruption in the UK.

Civil Society Organizations

At Datasketch, we work with NGOs and grassroots collectives that use technology as a tool for social change. From platforms that make gender-based violence and xenophobia more visible, to tools for monitoring public procurement and electoral transparency, these projects have helped strengthen accountability and the defense of rights in Latin America.

Examples include the website and data visualization tools for the Xenophobia Barometer in Colombia and a portal to consult public spending reports on HIV medication in Guatemala.

Media

At Datasketch, we are passionate about collaborating with media outlets to investigate and support data-driven storytelling. We’ve created interactive visualizations, digital platforms, and data management systems to enhance investigative journalism.

Examples include maps highlighting trans struggles in Latin America, a platform exposing political power networks in Colombia, and a Data Management System for newsrooms in European media organizations.

Government

Open and transparent data are key to strengthening public sector accountability. At Datasketch, we’ve developed open government platforms, data analysis tools, and visualizations in Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, and Argentina.

Together with the National Center for Historical Memory, we visualized data on 60 years of armed conflict in Colombia, and in Mexico City, we created an open data portal that allows users to access, download, and visualize information, identify trends, and explore geographic locations.

Foundations

Non-profit organizations play a crucial role in generating social impact, and data use can amplify their reach and effectiveness.

At Datasketch, we’ve developed tools to strengthen their work. For example, in 2022, we modernized the International Republican Institute’s website, enabling data visualization on parliamentary election cycles in Uganda.

Private Sector

Businesses that incorporate data into their processes can improve efficiency, sustainability, and impact. That’s why at Datasketch, we develop chatbots, digital tools, and conduct data analysis to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises with high potential—helping them grow and become more competitive.

Academia

Education and research are enhanced through data use to generate knowledge and support informed decision-making. At Datasketch, we developed a data management solution that enables analysis and communication of the social return on investment in social programs at Ohio University.

Each of these projects is proof of the power of data to transform realities.

Let’s work together!
