A little over two weeks ago, we launched our “100 Partners” campaign. An ambitious goal: secure 100 partners in 100 days, each investing $5,000 USD in our data and AI solutions. If the math doesn’t fail, that means half a million dollars in three months. Ambitious? Without a doubt. Impossible? Let’s see.
The Starting Point
For almost a decade, at Datasketch we’ve implemented more than 300 projects across 30 countries, helping organizations make their data more accessible and actionable. In recent years, we’ve completed around 50 projects annually.
Our hypothesis was simple yet powerful: after years of refining our tools, especially our AI capabilities, could we double our impact while maintaining the same team? That was the birth of the “100 Partners” campaign.
The Plan
The structure of our campaign is divided into three clear phases:
Days 1-30: Launch & Foundation
- Campaign website launch
- Sales toolkit completion
- Initial outreach to our existing network
- First webinar series
- Launch of diagnostic tools
Days 31-60: Scale & Optimize
- US market expansion
- Content acceleration
- Partner testimonial collection
- Referral program launch
- Product demonstration optimization
Days 61-100: Close & Convert
- Focused closing efforts
- Last-chance promotions
- Success story sharing
- Community events
- Extension library completion
The Reality So Far
14 days into the campaign, we have 2 confirmed partners:
-
Economía para la Pipol: An economic media outlet in Colombia for which we’re developing an AI agent that helps citizens understand economic news, verify politicians’ claims, and access simplified explanations of complex economic concepts.
-
The Steinman Institute for Civil Engagement: We’re creating an interactive map documenting Pennsylvania’s local news ecosystem across 19 counties, identifying both traditional and emerging sources to help the Institute understand coverage gaps and strategically invest in local journalism.
This represents 2% of our goal when 14% of the time has already elapsed. Yes, we’re below the ideal pace, but every partnership counts.
Key Sectors
Our strategy focuses on sectors where we see that the data and AI revolution is advancing more slowly, leaving important gaps that we can help close:
Local and independent media: We firmly believe that local news is fundamental to creating community fabric. Data technologies can enhance civic participation by empowering these media outlets.
Cultural and publishing sector: Another field where technological transformations are slow to arrive. In March, we’ll be in New York working on a project to map Spanish literature and explore the impact of data and AI in the publishing sector.
NGOs and social impact organizations: These entities often lack resources to implement technological solutions that could significantly amplify their impact.
Small businesses: Democratizing access to advanced data and AI tools can level the playing field for smaller businesses.
What We Offer
For this campaign, each partner can choose from three powerful solutions:
- Miqqa: Our AI-powered chatbot that makes conversations with data natural and intuitive.
- Custom interactive dashboards: Visualization solutions tailored to specific needs.
- Data-driven websites: Dynamic platforms that bring data to life.
Each partner also receives access to our data extension library: pre-built components that facilitate data management and visualization without technical knowledge.
What We’ve Learned So Far
Two weeks into the campaign, we’re already learning valuable lessons:
-
Sales cycles are longer than anticipated: Even with an accessible price of $5,000, organizations need time to make decisions.
-
Personal connections are crucial: Our first two partners came through pre-existing relationships where trust was already established.
-
Value demonstration must be immediate: We’re refining our demonstrations to quickly show tangible results.
-
Sector specialization works: Our proposal for media is resonating particularly well, indicating that we should deepen specific verticals.
Adjusting Expectations and Strategy
Let’s be realistic: reaching 100 partners in 100 days is an extremely ambitious goal. But as I said from the beginning, even reaching 50 would represent a 100% growth in our annual project capacity, which would be an extraordinary achievement.
We’re adjusting our strategy to:
- Intensify follow-up on existing opportunities
- Develop more sector-specific proposals
- Create more educational content demonstrating the value of our solutions
- Amplify success stories from our first partners
- Invest more in personalized communications and less in mass marketing
The Coming Weeks
In the coming weeks, our focus will be on:
-
Our project in New York to map Spanish literature and explore opportunities in the publishing sector.
-
Developing specific use cases for NGOs working on critical issues such as gender violence, using innovative data visualizations to generate important conversations about problems like femicides in Latin America.
-
Launching a specialized AI agent to analyze trends on LinkedIn and other public data, demonstrating the power of conversational AI applied to specific datasets.
The Invitation Remains Open
Despite the challenges, we remain firm in our mission to democratize data and AI. If your organization could benefit from an interactive website, dashboard, or AI chatbot with verified data, I’d love to talk.
Do you know someone who should be part of this initiative? Do you have ideas on how we could improve our proposal? Would you like to be part of our project in New York? Write to me directly.
Because in the end, it’s not just about selling $500,000 in 3 months. It’s about generating real impact, empowering organizations, democratizing technologies that can change the game. And that, with or without the 100 partnerships, is a goal worth working for.
